Collier County Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk on Friday praised the anonymous community member who helped solve a recent robbery at a North Naples store.
“This kind of partnership between law enforcement and the community is exactly what we need to keep Collier County safe,” Sheriff Rambosk said. “The safest communities in our country are the ones in which citizens play an active role in public safety.”
On Thursday, detectives arrested Brandon Maile, 30, who listed his address as homeless on arrest reports, and charged him with armed robbery in connection with the Aug. 20 robbery of the GNC store at 5014 Airport-Pulling Road.
Detectives developed Maile as a suspect following a tip that was provided to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
Sheriff Rambosk added that there are a number of ways the community can partner with law enforcement. Starting a Neighborhood Watch program, reporting suspicious activity and securing vehicles when they’re not being used are just a few of the simple steps citizens can take to help deputies.
“We all have a vested interest in preserving Collier County’s great quality of life,” he said. “And it’s going to take all of us working together to do it.”
