The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with local businesses to honor 100 service personnel and veterans at the Take A Soldier Fishing event on Saturday, Sept. 24. Take A Soldier Fishing events are held throughout the country as a way to show appreciation to our service personnel and veterans. Saturday morning, participants and local boat captains will depart from the Calusa Island Marina in Goodland for a day of fishing. Their return will be followed by live music, a cookout, an auction and weigh-in for the biggest catch of the day. All accommodations have been provided by generous donors from the community.
