Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Man On Delaware Murder Warrant

A traffic stop in Immokalee late Thursday night led to the arrest of a Collier County man on an active warrant for homicide in Delaware.

A Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over Robert Stanley McDonald, 56, 230 Mango Drive, for a vehicle equipment violation while McDonald was driving a gray 1991 Lincoln passenger car in the area of South 1st Street and East Main Street around 9:35 p.m., according to sheriff’s reports.

A records check revealed McDonald was wanted on an active Delaware warrant charging him with homicide-willful kill with a gun and attempted second-degree murder. A warrant had been issued for McDonald on Aug. 24, reports said.

The warrant described McDonald as armed and dangerous with violent tendencies, reports said.

McDonald was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Immokalee Jail Center, where he will await extradition back to Delaware, reports said.

He was also issued a written warning for not having a tag light on his vehicle.
