Florida law requires that all persons born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 who operate a vessel powered by a motor greater than 10 horsepower, have in their possession a Boating Safety Card and Photographic Identification. The Collier County Sheriff's Office encourages all persons, regardless of age, to attend a Safe Boating Class.

As more boats continue to utilize local waterways, safe boating has become increasingly important to prevent accidents, unnecessary injuries and death. To add to the excitement and fun of boating it only makes sense to become familiar with and practice safe boating rules and customs.

This class is designed to provide the attendee with a basic overview of boating laws and operator responsibilities and utilizes the How to Boat Smart Florida Boating Safety Course, which includes the Florida Certification Exam.

This class is limited to 15 people.
