CCSO Youth Deputies Leave Impression At International D.A.R.E. Conference

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office’s D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness and Resistance Education) car once again earned top honors at the 27th D.A.R.E. International Officers Training Conference in Grapevine, Texas. The 2012 Camaro earned two first-place trophies in the Specialty Division and Best Overall D.A.R.E. Vehicle.

This is the third consecutive year the car has been honored.

In addition, Cpl. Ken Vila of CCSO’s Youth Relations Bureau was nominated and considered for the D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year award. Cpl. Vila finished runner up among a very competitive field of candidates.

Congratulations!
