New Hires, Promotions At CCSO

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk swore in newly appointed and promoted Collier County Sheriff’s Office employees at a ceremony September 9.

Sheriff Rambosk administered the oath of office to 15 new members at a ceremony at the Professional Development Center, 615 Third Ave. S., Naples. Four recently promoted members were also recognized at the ceremony.

In front of their families, friends and new colleagues, these men and women affirmed to carry out their duties as deputy sheriffs. They will serve in a variety of positions including patrol, corrections, communications, and administration.

Appointments:

Sheila Anderson was appointed to fiscal clerk.  She was born in Michigan and has lived in Collier County for 11 years.  Prior coming to CCSO Most recently she worked at Rose Marina on Marco Island.

John Bonney was appointed to community service deputy. He was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. and has resided in Collier County for four years. He attended the Northern Illinois University, where he studied business.

Bryan Dalton was appointed a law enforcement officer. He was born and raised in New Jersey and has only lived in Naples for a short time. He studied business administration and economics at William Paterson College in New Jersey and comes to us with 25 years of prior law enforcement experience

Stephen Decker was appointed a Corrections officer. He was born and raised in Naples and is a graduate of Barron Collier High School.

Dennis Grossklas was appointed a law enforcement officer. He was born and raised in Illinois, has resided in Collier County for five years and is a graduate of Ave Maria University, where he earned a degree in philosophy. He comes to us from a position at Ave Maria University.

John Haney III was appointed a law enforcement officer. He hails from Maryland and has lived in Collier County for one year.  He is a graduate of both Salisbury University and McDaniel College, where he studied education. He comes to us from a teaching position in Baltimore, Md.

Joshua Hankinson was appointed a Corrections officer. He was born in Ohio and is a graduate of Southeast High School in Bradenton, Fla.   He comes to CCSO from an engineering and land survey corporation.

Richard Harris Jr. was appointed a law enforcement officer. He was born and raised in South Carolina.  He is a graduate of South Carolina State University, where he majored in criminal justice.  Richard comes to CCSO from working for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Simone Hatch was appointed as a dispatcher. She was born and raised in Germany and has lived in Collier County for 15 years.  She is a graduate of Florida SouthWestern State College (formerly Edison State College), where she studied nursing.  Most recently she was employed at the Marco Island Marriott.

Tiffany Hogan was appointed a Corrections officer. She was born and raised in Naples, is a graduate of Gulf Coast High School and is currently studying criminal justice at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Nicole Jones was appointed as a dispatcher. She was born and raised in New York and has been in Collier County for one year.  She is a graduate of Orange County Community College, where she studied liberal arts. Prior to joining CCSO she owned a collision repair shop in NY.

Kyle Loyd was appointed to community service deputy. He was born and raised in Collier County and is a graduate of Gulf Coast High School.

Joseph Nelson was appointed as a dispatcher. Joseph was born and raised in Florida. He is a graduate of North Central State College, where he studied law enforcement. He previously spent eight years at CCSO working as a dispatcher.

Michael Portnov was appointed a law enforcement officer. He was born in Russia, raised in New Jersey and is a graduate of St. John’s University in New York, where he studied legal services. Most recently he worked for the United States Department of the Interior National Park Unit.

Dorothy Roberto was appointed as a school crossing guard. She was born and raised on the east coast and has lived in Collier County for two years.  She studied business at Rutgers University in New Jersey. She comes to CCSO from a position in sales.

Promotions: 

David Drucks was promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Patrol Division. He joined the Collier County Sheriff's Office in 2004. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Delaware.

Patrick McManus was promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Patrol Division. He joined the Collier County Sheriff's Office in 2001. He earned a master’s degree in criminal justice from Hodges University.

Kenneth Newell was promoted to the rank of sergeant in the Patrol Division. He began his career with the Collier County Sheriff's Office in 2004. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University.

James Vliet was promoted to sergeant in the Judicial Bureau. He has more than 20 years of law enforcement experience. He joined the Collier County Sheriff's Office in 2000. He earned degrees in criminal justice from Florida SouthWestern State College (formerly known as Edison State College) and Union Institute and University.
