Collier County Sheriff’s
Office deputies were called to the area of Delaware Avenue in Immokalee at
12:40 p.m. Thursday by a person reporting that he was being threatened by a
subject who was armed with a gun.
Deputies arrived on scene and encountered the subject, who was brandishing a gun. They gave multiple commands to drop the weapon, but he did not comply.
Details are still developing, but during the encounter one of the deputies felt in fear for his safety and the safety of those around him and fired his weapon at the armed subject. The subject was transported for treatment of his injuries.
