CCSO Urges Residents To Visit New County Emergency Preparedness Site Called COLLIER72

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is monitoring the development of Tropical Storm Erika and urges residents and businesses to review their emergency plans.

It is essential to take the necessary steps and be ready before a storm approaches, and that you have a 72-hour disaster survival kit prepared.

To give Collier County residents one more tool to be prepared in the event of an emergency, Collier County Emergency Management recently launched COLLIER72. The web-based application enables county residents and visitors to use traditional and digital social networks to help each other before, during and after an emergency.

COLLIER72, which can be accessed at www.collier72.org, gives residents and visitors information on how to develop an emergency kit, how to plan for emergencies and disasters, how to connect with their communities socially and how to stay informed with emergency-related information.

COLLIER72 is also on Facebook at www.facebook.com/collier72, and on Twitter @Collier72org) to give the public additional ways to access information.
