The Collier
County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an elderly couple was found dead
early Monday in what detectives believe was an apparent murder suicide.
The couple was
identified as Thomas Albert Alcock and Jane Margaret Alcock, both 83. Deputies
discovered the couple dead inside their residence on Woodshire Lane in the
Forest Lakes community in North Naples around 3 a.m.
Detectives
believe Thomas Alcock fatally shot his wife with a handgun before turning the
gun on himself.
A dog and a
cat were also found deceased inside the residence.
There was no
sign of forced entry and detectives are not seeking any suspects.
The District
20 Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause and manner
of death.
An
investigation continues.
