Deputies Shut Down Grow House

Marijuana plants valued at nearly $400,000 were seized Thursday from what deputies said was a grow house in Golden Gate Estates.

Leonardo Fernandez, 49, 3840 32nd Ave. S.E., was arrested and charged with marijuana trafficking.

Reports say deputies discovered 130 plants in three rooms that were converted to grow marijuana. The plants had a street value of $396,000.

A loaded 9mm Glock was found underneath Fernandez’s pillow, reports said. The gun had been reported stolen out of Hialeah.

Cooling units, transformers and light bulbs were also found in the house.

Fernandez was also charged with committing a felony with a weapon, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of narcotic equipment.
