Deputies: Man Kicked, Punched Disabled Uncle

A man who beat up his disabled uncle after his uncle didn’t have money to pay him for doing household chores was arrested Tuesday, deputies said.

Richard Acosta, 43, 4962 Palmetto Court, East Naples, was arrested on a warrant and charged with elder abuse and battery.

Reports say Acosta had been helping his uncle Armando Acosta, 57, 2626 Storter Ave., paint and move furniture on Feb. 1. When they were done, Armando Acosta, who is partially paralyzed on his left side, went to rest on the couch.

Acosta asked his uncle for money and Armando Acosta said he didn’t have enough to pay him.
Acosta became angry and punched his uncle in the face about 10 times and kicked him in the head. Richard Acosta then left the house, telling his uncle he was going to come back and kill him, reports said.

Acosta was also charged with possession of cocaine and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. A search of Acosta turned up cocaine.
