Arturo Garcia, 24, and Antonio Castaneda, 27, were charged with animal cruelty and using animals to bait or fight one another.
Deputies found several chickens in cages and some roaming free outside the home. One chicken appeared to be ill or injured. Deputies also found a circular ring that appeared to be a rooster-fighting ring. There was a dead rooster nearby. Sparring talons, vitamins and other items consistent with an animal-fighting operation were also found on the property.
Collier County Domestic Animal Services responded and investigated as well.
