CCSO Busts 14th Grow House Of ‘08

Collier County sheriff’s deputies uncovered 33 plants with a street value of nearly $100,000 from a suspected marijuana indoor grow house in Golden Gate Estates on Tuesday.

Rene Izquirdo Haza, 38, 4140 24th Ave. S.E., was arrested and charged with marijuana trafficking and possession of narcotic equipment.

Reports say investigators with the sheriff’s vice and narcotics bureau executed a search warrant at Haza’s residence around 5:30 p.m. Investigators discovered a room located in the southeast side of the house had been converted into a marijuana grow room.

The seized marijuana had a street value of around $99,000 and the growing equipment was valued at around $8,000.

The arrest marks the 14th marijuana indoor grow house shut down by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office this year.
