They said they were “cow tipping,’’ but deputies say there were no cows in this Golden Gate field, only radio towers.
Reports say deputies responded to a report of damage to a gate to a communications tower on privately owned land at Massey Street and Vanderbilt Beach Road around 10:15 p.m. When deputies arrived, a white Ford F150 pickup and a black Dodge truck attempted to flee the property.
The four occupants of the trucks told deputies that they had gone into the field and tipped over a cow. Deputies say there aren’t any cows within miles of the field.
Deputies arrested the four - Casey Jacob Townsend, 20, 81 Golden Gate Blvd. E., Golden Gate Estates; Zachary Edward Moore, 18, 585 18th Ave. N.W., Golden Gate Estates; Matthew Scott Geroy, 20, 5890 Copper Leaf Lane, Golden Gate; and Michael Stock, 19, 1446 Divala St., Naples - and charged them with loitering and prowling.
