Man Charged With Having Sex With Boy Gets Prison

A 23-year-old Collier County man charged with raping a boy he met through church has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Sean Michael Abraham, 5510 Jonquil Circle, Apt. 201, North Naples, pleaded guilty to seven counts of lewd and lascivious battery during a hearing Monday in Collier County Circuit Court, deputies said.

Circuit Judge Fred Hardt sentenced Abraham to prison to be followed by 15 years of sex offender probation, deputies said.

Abraham entered his plea just before his trial on the charges was scheduled to begin, deputies said.

While he was out on bond, deputies arrested Abraham on April 2 and charged him with having an underage drinking party at his residence. Judge Hardt revoked his bond on April 25.

Collier County sheriff’s deputies arrested Abraham on Oct. 11, 2007, after he began having sex with a boy from church who he was supposed to be mentoring, deputies said.

If anyone has information that could lead to other victims involving Abraham, they are urged to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 793-9300, and ask for the Special Crimes Bureau.
