A 47-year-old man is being held without bond in the Collier County jail on charges he threatened a woman with a knife, raped her and then stole her car.
At a court hearing Sunday, Collier Circuit Judge Elizabeth Krier ordered Timothy Crawford, 11238 U.S. 41 E., Apt. 2, East Naples, held without bond on a charge of sexual battery with a deadly weapon.
Arrest reports say a 39-year-old woman told deputies she gave Crawford a ride back to his apartment at Conty’s Motel and asked him of she could use his bathroom early Saturday.
When she came out of the bathroom, Crawford placed a knife to her throat and forced her onto his bed, where he tied her arms and placed a sock over her mouth and then raped her, reports said.
He then stole her jewelry and drove away in her car, reports said.
