Pawn Receipts Lead To Man’s Arrest

Deputies arrested a man on burglary and grand theft charges Tuesday after they say he stole jewelry, electronic games and other goods from his former roommates and then sold them to a pawn shop.

Jose M. Laboyrivera, 21, 23371 Royal Crown Drive, North Naples, was arrested.

Arrest reports say Laboyrivera broke into 16020 Arbor View Blvd., Apt. 132, North Naples, on April 30. Laboyrivera ransacked the apartment and stole two gold rings, a gold necklace, a gold rosary, a Play Station and three games, and cash totaling $4,700, reports said.

Laboyrivera had lived at the apartment and was kicked out by his roommates in November 2007, reports said.

Further investigation by deputies turned up receipts showing that Laboyrivera sold the stolen jewelry to a Bonita Springs pawn shop, reports said.
