2 Charged After Traffic Stop

Two men were arrested Thursday evening after CCSO Vice and Narcotics Bureau deputies say they found more than 9 pounds of marijuana in their truck during a traffic stop.

Alberto Clero, 47, 6260 W. 18th Ave., Hialeah, Fla., and Ignacio Rosendo Velazquez, 44, 20824 NW 20th St., Pembroke Pines, Fla., were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana.

Reports say deputies pulled over the Toyota truck Clero was driving on Interstate 75 near the 98 Mile Marker when it failed to move over for an emergency vehicle around 7 p.m. Clero and his passenger, Velazquez, both seemed nervous, reports said. Deputies noticed a blue duffle bag in the bed of the truck and asked the men who it belonged to. Both denied owning it.

Deputies then called in a CCSO dog trained to detect drugs and had it sniff around the outside of the truck. It alerted, indicating that there were drugs in the vehicle. When deputies searched the truck they found 9.2 pounds of high-grade marijuana inside the duffle bag, reports said. Deputies put the value of the marijuana at $28,000.
