A traffic stop in North Naples resulted in drug charges for three people early Wednesday.
Abraham Baida, 29, of Miami, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of cocaine, possession of a synthetic narcotic, possession of narcotic paraphernalia and presenting false information to a law enforcement officer.
Michael Clough, 30, 15405 Cedarwood Lane, Apt. 301, Naples, was charged with possession of narcotic paraphernalia and presenting false information to a law enforcement officer.
Jessica Thomas, 21, of Bonita Springs, was charged with possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
Arrest reports gave this account:
Deputies pulled over the car Thomas was driving at around 2 a.m. on Pine Ridge Road at the Interstate 75 intersection after Thomas reached the middle of the intersection before obeying a stop sign at the corner of Dudley Drive and Pine Ridge Road.
During the traffic stop, a CCSO narcotics K-9 alerted on several areas of the vehicle. Deputies found a sunglass bag with more than 30 grams of cocaine inside it near where Baida was sitting. They found marijuana in Thomas’ purse. A clear plastic bag containing cocaine residue was found under the floor mat where Clough had been sitting.
Deputies also found four blue pills later identified as the prescription narcotic oxycodone. They were able to connect those pills with Baida, reports said.
Also during the traffic stop both Baida and Clough gave fake names and Thomas approached a deputy aggressively and refused to obey orders to stop. When deputies tried to handcuff her she struggled to pull away from them.
A fourth occupant of the vehicle was not charged.
Deputies later discovered Baida and Clough also were wanted on felony warrants out of the area, arrest reports said.
