A Golden Gate Estates man was sentenced to 40 years in prison followed by 10 years of sexual offender probation Monday in connection with child pornography charges.
Scott Ward, 27, 581 14th Ave. NW, pleaded no contest to 194 counts of possession of child pornography.
Ward was arrested Aug. 30, 2007, after taking his computer to Computer Help USA in North Naples to be repaired. When a technician conducted a virus scan on the computer he became concerned about the names of some of the computer files. He alerted a supervisor, who reported it to CCSO.
Investigators ultimately found 194 images and videos of children between the ages of 4 and 14 engaged in sexual acts with adults and other children on computers belonging to Ward.
