Tips resulting from the release of a surveillance photo led to the arrest of an East Naples woman Tuesday evening.Sundae Dawn Johnson, 31, 3735 Guilford Oaks Lane Apartment PH, was charged with unarmed robbery/sudden snatching and petty theft. Her arrest is in connection with the June 6 theft of tips from a waitress at a 1921 Davis Blvd. IHOP restaurant.
Reports say Frances Diane Lanfranchi, 67, was at the restaurant’s reception counter shortly after 6 a.m. when Johnson approached and asked for change for $1. Lanfranchi removed her tips from her pocket and placed the folded bills on the counter and covered them with her forearm while she looked through her change. Johnson then grabbed the bills from beneath Lanfranchi’s arm and ran out of the restaurant, reports said.
A photograph obtained from a restaurant surveillance camera was provided to the media and all CCSO members. Tips resulting from that photograph led to Johnson's arrest.
