WHAT: Marijuana grow house arrest

ARRESTED: Jobannes Cruz, 33, of Miami
CHARGES: Trafficking in marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia
SUMMARY: Deputies uncovered 77 marijuana plants and approximately 3 pounds of loose marijuana with an estimated street value of $240,000 after serving a search warrant at this location Thursday morning.
A search of the residence by deputies also turned up marijuana grow equipment with an estimated value of $10,000.
CCSO vice and narcotics investigators received information in June that Cruz was involved with and operating a marijuana grow house at 3980 33rd Ave. N.E.
During July investigators developed probable cause and procured a search warrant for this residence.
Deputies served the search warrant Thursday and arrested Cruz, the sole occupant of the house.
Since January, CCSO has shut down 27 suspected marijuana grow houses in Collier County, uncovering a total of 1,510 plants with a combined estimated street value of $4.5 million.
