School Safety Tip: Red Means Stop

This is the sixth tip in our seven-day Back To School Safety Countdown; please discuss this tip with your child:
When it comes to slowing down or stopping for the school bus, motorists should heed the signs. When the yellow lights on the school bus are flashing that’s your sign to slow down. When the red lights on the bus are flashing that’s your sign to stop.

Also, look for CCSO banners reminding everyone that school starts Aug. 19. The banners are at the Collier County Government Center, Pelican Marsh Elementary School, Big Cypress Elementary School, Shadowlawn Elementary School, and Corkscrew Elementary School.

CCSO community service deputies' trucks are also carrying the countdown message.
