Deputies are investigating a report of a man who pointed a gun at an employee outside an East Naples nursing home early Wednesday.
The incident happened around 12:25 a.m. outside Manor Care, 3601 Lakewood Blvd.
Investigators said a maintenance employee went outside to get cleaning supplies when he was startled by a man in the bushes holding a gun. The man pointed the gun at the employee and told him not to speak.
The man then ran away, heading northeast on Boca Ciega Drive.
Deputies searched the area on the ground and in the air, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
Investigators said the suspect was wearing dark clothing, including a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Investigators said nursing home employees reported seeing a small red passenger car, possibly a Mazda, in the area the past couple of nights.
