Deputies: Mother, Daughter Attacked Sleeping Couple

A mother and daughter were arrested Monday after they broke into a couple’s trailer in Chokoloskee and attacked them with a baseball bat, sheriff’s reports said.

Lynn Hancock, 52, and Teresa Lee McMillin, 30, both of 365 Smallwood Drive, were arrested and each charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and burglary with battery.

Arrest reports say Amber Stevens, 19, told deputies that she and her boyfriend Blake Weeks, 23, have been renting a trailer from Hancock for about two months. The trailer is on the same street where Hancock and McMillin live.

Stevens told deputies that she and Weeks were sleeping in the trailer around 8:45 a.m. when Hancock and McMillin came in without being asked and started yelling at them to get out, reports said.

McMillin grabbed Stevens by the hair and dragged her out of bed. Then Hancock started hitting Stevens with a metal baseball bat, striking her at least three times on her right arm, reports said.

Weeks tried to break up the fight and Stevens ran outside. Stevens said McMillin grabbed her purse and started going through it, reports said.
