The manager of a North Naples Publix was arrested Thursday on charges that he stole prescription painkillers from the store pharmacy and food.

Clayton Thompson, 29, of Fort Myers was charged with grand theft.

Arrest reports say Thompson was manager of the Publix at 11200 U.S. 41 N., in the Riverchase shopping plaza. After closing the store Wednesday night, Thompson left with a shopping cart full of groceries without paying for them, reports said. The groceries were valued at $514.10, reports said.

Deputies said Thompson also had 162 hydrocodone pills, valued at $64.80, that he took from the store pharmacy, according to reports.
