WHAT: Armed Robbery

LOCATION: Wendy’s restaurant, 2601 U.S. 41 E., East Naples
TIME: 2:17 A.M.
SUMMARY: Deputies say a man pointed a gun at a restaurant worker and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
The night manager told deputies that she was closing the restaurant when she heard the back door open, according to sheriff’s reports. She said a man she did not recognize entered the office where she was and pointed a gun at her.
The man, who was wearing a bandanna over his face, demanded she open the safe. The woman complied and the man removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe and then ran out the back door, reports said.
Deputies said the robber was wearing gray sweat pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Deputies searched on the ground and in the air but were unable to locate the robber.
No other details were available.
An investigation continues.
