A man who is on state probation for grand theft auto was arrested after deputies found him inside a car that was reported stolen earlier in the day in East Naples, sheriff’s reports said.
Marco T. Mis, 20, 529 Tallwood St., Apt. 4, was charged with grand theft auto and violation of state probation.
Arrest reports say Kevin Dowling told deputies that he parked his silver 2003 Kia Rio outside his work in the 2700 block of U.S. 41 East around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and when he left work at 8 p.m. his vehicle was gone.
Deputies located the vehicle with Mis inside parked behind a gas station at the intersection of Holland Street and Floridan Avenue in East Naples around 10:30 p.m.
A search of the vehicle turned up Mis’ cell phone in the center console, reports said.
Further investigation by deputies revealed Mis is on probation for grand theft auto, reports said.
