A 23-year-old convicted sex offender is facing a felony charge after failing to tell authorities that he had moved from Golden Gate Estates to North Naples.Nelson A. Minaya had recently moved to 16020 Caldera Lane, but failed to notify authorities of his new address, as required under Florida law, according to sheriff’s reports.
Reports say Minaya had a registered address in Golden Gate Estates following his release from prison as a registered sex offender. When deputies made a routine visit to the address on March 19 to verify Minaya was still living there they were informed he had moved out.
Deputies arrested Minaya when he showed up for an appointment at the state probation office on Tuesday, reports said.
