McGruff the Crime Dog and CCSO deputies recently visited kids at summer camp in Everglades City.The camp was held July 1 at Everglades City School, 415 School Drive.
McGruff asked the kids to share a safety tip and they were rewarded with a coupon for a free ICEE, compliments of the Everglades Circle K, 603 Collier Ave.
The kids also participated in a poster contest to show what they want to be when they grow up. The Police Activities League provided the poster paper, markers, crayons and snacks while the kids drew pictures of deputies, firefighters, fashion designers and other professionals.
The contest was to kick-off the announcement that PAL and CCSO will take the 40 campers to Wannado City in Fort Lauderdale as part of their career exploration day.
