The Collier County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in East Naples on Saturday evening targeting drivers who choose to drive after consuming alcohol or drugs.
This checkpoint is part of a continuing series of static sobriety checkpoints and roving operations planned as a part of the current CCSO Community Safety Plan and a one-year Florida Department of Transportation grant.
In 2008, Collier County had the lowest crash rate for any Florida county with a population over 200,000 and the seventh lowest fatality rate statewide.
To help maintain this outstanding record of safety, CCSO’s Safety and Traffic Enforcement Bureau reminds drivers to plan for a safe ride home before heading out for the evening, or to call a friend, or take a taxi.
