The Collier County Sheriff’s Office and its community partners teamed up to educate kids ages 4 and 5 the importance of swimming pool safety during the inaugural April Pool’s Day event on April 27.
Hosted by the Safe and Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County, around 150 children from local daycares visited the Golden Gate Aquatic Center. The children toured different water safety information stations where they learned about personal safety, swimming basics and what to do if there is an emergency situation at a pool.
McGruff the Crime Dog gave tips on staying safe, while Red E. Fox talked about when to call 911.
