A Texas man faces felony charges in Florida after he performed sex acts on a webcam and solicited sex from an undercover Collier County Sheriff’s Office detective posing as a 13-year-old girl.
Paul Macchia, 50, is being held without bond in the Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth, Texas, awaiting extradition to Florida, detectives said.
Macchia was arrested in Texas on Tuesday on a Collier County warrant charging him with four counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition via webcam and one count of online solicitation for sex.
Macchia engaged in an online chat with an undercover detective posing as a 13-year-old Naples, Fla., girl over several weeks in February and March. Several times during the course of this chat, Macchia performed sex acts on a webcam and asked for sex.
On Monday, CCSO obtained a warrant for Macchia’s arrest. On Tuesday, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office executed at search warrant at Macchia’s residence in Forth Worth and took him into custody on the Collier warrant.
Two computers were seized from the residence. CCSO will conduct a forensic analysis on those computers as part of the investigation.
