More than 100 grateful Lely residents threw a party for Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies who nabbed a peeping Tom in their neighborhood.
Residents of Lely Country Club in East Naples served up barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers and a variety of homemade salads, side dishes and desserts during Friday’s event. A bounce house for children added to the festive atmosphere.
“They spent 10 days and nights, some even on their days off, working to catch the guy. I can’t thank them enough,” said resident Frank Briggs.
“We wanted to show our appreciation for the Sheriff’s Office,” added resident Dietrich Zimmerman.
More than 70 residents signed a petition thanking CCSO for arresting 35-year-old Leslie Theodore Brew in late July in connection with several peeping incidents in the community over the summer. Click here to read the petition.
Brew, who is a registered sex offender, was charged with voyeurism, trespass of an occupied structure and loitering/prowling.
