CCSO and Community Come Together To Honor Service Personnel and Veterans
CCSO, local businesses and members of the community came together Saturday, Sept. 24, to honor 100 service personnel and veterans at the Take A Soldier Fishing event in Goodland. The event kicked off at the Calusa Island Marina, where forty boats awaited the group for a day of redfish and trout fishing. Upon their return, they were greeted by a large crowd filled with community members and a group of Harley Davidson riders, who thanked them for their service. The fishing trip was followed by a weigh-in, entertainment, plenty of food, raffles and a live auction benefiting the Wounded Warriors Project. The 2011 Take A Solider Fishing event was a great success and made possible thanks to generous donors from the community.
