Media Photo Opp: Kids Free Fishing Event At Sports Park

WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 18

TIME: 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

WHERE: Florida Sports Park

SUMMARY: Saturday morning will bring loads of fun sprinkled with some education for hundreds of children as the Collier County Junior Deputies League hosts the annual “Kids Love Fishing” event.

Beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until 1:15 p.m., youngsters of all ages will use cane poles to try to land tilapia, bass, bream, and catfish. Participants can also experience the thrill of a swamp buggy ride. The event will also feature a fly fishing demonstration and rock-wall climbing.

"Kids Love Fishing" will wrap up with a free lunch.

The event will take place at the Collier County Junior Deputies League Inc.’s Camp Discovery at the Florida Sports Park.

"Kids Love Fishing" is free, although donations to the Junior Deputies League will be accepted.

All kids must be accompanied by an adult.
