Robert Rogers Underwood faces charges of possession of a structure used to manufacture drugs and marijuana cultivation/manufacture, both felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Detectives with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office’s Vice and Narcotics Bureau and members of the CCSO Special Response Unit executed a narcotics search warrant at 2740 24th Ave. S.E. around 6:45 a.m.
Detectives discovered an indoor marijuana grow operation inside the residence. The master bedroom closet was converted into a nursery that contained fluorescent lights, a fan and 30 marijuana plants.
The search also turned up two more rooms on the east side of the residence that contained an additional 25 larger marijuana plants as well as equipment typically used to grow marijuana including transformers and high-intensity light bulbs.
Underwood, who lives at the residence, was present when the search warrant was executed. He was arrested and booked into the Collier County jail.
A total of 55 marijuana plants were recovered by deputies. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $165,000.
The equipment used to grow the marijuana had an estimated value of $1,000.
