SUMMARY: The Collier County Sheriff’s Office will join forces with an internationally known cold water survival expert in a training exercise to demonstrate how to escape a sinking vehicle.

The proper ways to break a car window and get out of a submerged vehicle will also be demonstrated.

The demonstration will be preceded by a workshop led by Giesbrecht for law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel and 911 dispatchers.

The Safe & Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County is coordinating the workshop and demonstration.
In addition to CCSO, participants will include Collier County Parks and Recreation, National Drowning Prevention Alliance, Physicians Regional Healthcare System, and Bald Eagle Towing and Recovery Inc.
