Tips on avoiding identity theft will be offered at two community events hosted by the newly formed Collier ID Theft Task Force.
The events, titled: “Identity Theft: Tips To Reduce Your Risk Of Becoming A Victim,” are free and open to the public.
The first is set for 5 to 6:15 p.m., Monday, April 21 at the North Naples Fire Control & Rescue District training center, 1855 Veterans Park Drive, Naples. Bob Harden, host of The Bob Harden Show on www.bobharden.com, will be the moderator.
The second is set for Thursday, May 1, 5 to 6:15 p.m. at the Jewish Family & Community Services center, 5025 Costello Drive, Naples. The moderator will be Naples Daily News Editorial Editor Jeff Lytle.
At both events, Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk will present identity fraud safety information, along with co-presenter Carrie Kerskie, an identity theft expert and private investigator. Kerskie is author of the book, “Your Public Identity: Because Nothing Is Private Anymore.”
Sheriff Rambosk is co-chairman of the task force, along with Mike Reagen, who retired last year from his post as president and CEO of the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce and the Leadership Collier Foundation, Kerskie is a key component of the group, which also includes law enforcement advisors Naples Police Chief Tom Weschler and Marco Island Police Chief Don Hunter.
