Update: Deputies Searching For East Naples Carjacking Suspect

UPDATE: A man who matches the description of the suspect in a carjacking at the Collier County Courthouse on Monday morning has been transported to an area hospital following a vehicle pursuit with deputies in Immokalee.

The pursuit ended after the vehicle the man was driving rolled over near the intersection of Bethune Avenue and South 5th Street. The vehicle matches the description of the stolen vehicle.

An arrest has not been made. The investigation continues.

Information will be released as it becomes available.

Deputies are searching for a man who carjacked a 66-year-old woman in the parking garage at the Collier County Courthouse on Monday morning.

Deputies said the woman was walking to her vehicle in the parking garage, 3355 U.S. 41 E., East Naples, shortly before 10 a.m. when she was approached by a man. The man struck her in the head and demanded her vehicle. He then took the woman’s keys and fled in her vehicle.

The woman received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, deputies said.

Deputies said the suspect is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He wore his hair in shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was dressed in dark clothing, including shorts.  

He may be driving the victim’s 2010 silver Lexus RX 350 sport utility vehicle with Florida license plate number 571PTU.
