The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is
reposting this Collier County Government news release:
An intersection improvement project at
White Boulevard and 23rd Street Southwest in Golden Gate Estates is
scheduled to begin mobilization for construction next week.
The Collier County Board of
Commissioners in June approved a contract for the project with Ajax Paving
Industries of Florida, LLC, the lowest responsive bidder, for approximately
$717,000.
The project will better align the
intersection and enhance pedestrian features such as sidewalks and paved
shoulders. The project is scheduled to
be completed in six months.
Last summer Collier County completed
the White Boulevard Bridge replacement over the Golden Gate Main Canal in this
area. The intersection improvements were
originally part of that project but due to budget constraints the intersection
improvements had to be postponed.
The speed limit in the vicinity of the
construction work has been reduced to 35 mph.
