CCSO To Participate In National Car Seat Safety Program

Not sure if you’ve properly installed your child’s car seat? Have your car seat checked or fitted for free by a Collier County Sheriff’s Office child passenger safety technician.

CCSO will host three car seat safety inspection events in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Child Passenger Safety Week” initiative Sept. 14-20.

Parents may visit any one of the following events:

- Monday, Sept. 15, 9 a.m. - noon, Collier County Health Department, 3319 U.S. 41 E., East Naples
- Tuesday, Sept. 16, 9 – 11 a.m., Twinkle Twinkle Little Store, 4172 U.S. 41 N., North Naples
- Wednesday, Sept. 17, 9 a.m. – noon, Wal-Mart Supercenter, 6550 Collier Blvd., East Naples

Certified car seat technicians will work with you to make sure your child is in the right seat and fitted properly, and that the seat is correctly installed in your vehicle.

The programs are free and open to the public.

Bilingual fitting technicians will be available.

Florida law requires parents to use a child restraint system. If children are not properly restrained while traveling in a vehicle, they could easily be injured in a collision or any other emergency situation.

To schedule an appointment for a free inspection at a time convenient to you, contact CCSO car seat safety technician Marianna Herrera at 239.252.0367, or e-mail trafficsafety@colliersheriff.net.
