The
Southwest Florida Jail Leadership Initiative graduated its second class,
including six members of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday.
Emery
Gainey, director of Law Enforcement Relations, Victim Services & Criminal
Justice Programs at the Florida Office of the Attorney General, was the guest
speaker at the luncheon event, held at the Southwest Florida Public Service
Academy in Fort Myers.
The
Southwest Florida Jail Leadership Initiative is a joint effort with five
counties (Collier, Lee, Glades, Hendry and Lee), Southwest Florida Public
Service Academy and American Jail Association to prepare future leaders in the
corrections field.
The 19-member graduating
class included six from CCSO: Lt. Joe Williams, Lt. Shirley Noya, Sgt. Joan
Capo, Sgt. David Dellinger, Sgt. Ben Lopez, and Sgt. Erik Miller.
