A shopping trip to Whole Foods Market in North Naples will
mean extra support for Summerfest.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office’s free summer youth
activities program has been selected by Whole Foods Market as a beneficiary of
a 5 percent giving day. On Friday, June 5, Whole Foods Market, 9101 Strada
Place, will donate 5 percent of that day’s net proceeds to Summerfest.
The more money
shoppers spend on June 5, the greater the donation will be to Summerfest.
Whole Foods Market created 5% Percent to give back to local
communities by providing support to nonprofit organizations whose programs directly
benefit the communities surrounding their stores. The 5 Percent Days are held
quarterly in each store and on this special day, selected organizations receive
5 percent of a store’s total pre-tax sales.
Deputies will
be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. passing out fliers and sharing information
about Summerfest.
Fishing, swimming, boat-building, rock-wall climbing,
sports, music and games are just a few of the activities that combine to make
Summerfest CCSO’s most ambitious summer youth program ever. The annual program
offers a wide range of fun and free activities for all grade levels in a safe
environment at various locations around Collier County.
Summerfest is made possible thanks to partnerships with Collier County Public Schools, Collier County Parks and Recreation and more than 200 area donor businesses and individuals.

Deputies made more than 55,000 youth contacts during
Summerfest last year and they are anticipating even greater success this summer
as the program continues to gain momentum.
