The Collier
County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing boater along the coastline
of the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in East Naples.
Charles
Guarino, 54, was last seen around 9 a.m. Saturday after a family member dropped
him off at the Shell Island Road canoe launch in Rookery Bay. Guarino brought a
silver metal canoe, along with a tent, camping supplies and his cell phone.
He did not
specify what island he intended to paddle to or how long he intended to stay
out.
His family has
not been able to make contact with him. They reported him missing Wednesday.
Detectives
said Guarino is described as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 215 pounds with a
white beard.
