Deputies Seek Information In Hit And Run Investigation

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for information involving a white or silver four-door passenger car that was involved in a hit and run crash in North Naples on Friday, Jan. 15.

Reports say the victim, 50, was riding his bicycle northbound on Goodlette-Frank Road around 4:30 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle near the Vanderbilt Beach Road intersection. The vehicle was also northbound on Goodlette-Frank Road at the time.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to assist and no emergency responders were called to the scene. Later that day friends drove the victim to the hospital for treatment.

There was a delay in CCSO receiving the report as family members did not learn how the victim received his injuries until he awoke from undergoing surgeries on Monday, Jan. 18.

The victim told deputies the vehicle that struck him was either a white or silver older model four-door passenger car driven by a Hispanic man.

The victim died of his injuries on Friday, Jan. 29.

Deputies are asking anyone with information to contact the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300 or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477 (TIPS).
