Deputies Seek Man in Wal-Mart Supercenter Thefts

Collier County Sheriff’s Office investigators are searching for a man who stole more than $4,500 in electronics from two Wal-Mart Supercenters on Thursday.

In both cases, the man, who is only described as black, gained access to locked display cases by jimmying the doors, reports say.

The man removed five camcorders and two portable DVD players valued at $1,830 shortly after noon at Wal-Mart, 5420 Juliet Blvd, North Naples.

He left the store through a fire door, causing the alarm to sound.

He loaded the merchandise into a late-90s model passenger car, possibly a Saturn, and drove away.

The man removed electronic items, including two global positioning units, three CD/DVD players and three car stereos around 2 p.m. at the store at 9885 Collier Blvd., East Naples. The items were valued at $2,736.

The man left the store through a fire door, triggering the alarm.

He took off in the same late-90s model passenger car.
