Daughter Charged With Maxing Out Mom's Credit Cards

Deputies arrested a woman who they say maxed out her mother’s credit cards.

Cynthia Alvaradopado, 40, 5330 Floridan Ave., Naples Manor, was arrested Wednesday and charged with illegal use of a credit card and grand theft.

Reports say Olga Gutierrez Alvarado told deputies that she received notices in the mail from credit card companies that her cards were maxed out and demanding payment. She confronted her daughter, Alvaradopado, who admitted to the charges and agreed to pay the money back. However, Alvaradopao never repaid the money.

Alvaradopado charged more than $6,000 worth of services and merchandise between September 2007 October 2007, reports said. Among the charges were $1,700 in repairs to her car at a local Mercedes dealership and $2,014 for a watch and a pair of diamond solitaire earrings she bought from a local pawn shop.

Alvaradopado was also charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property in a separate case.

Reports say she stole a Movado watch valued at $1,039 from her mother last year which she later pawned for $100.
