Deputies Bust Marijuana Growing Operation In Semitrailer

Collier County sheriff’s deputies shut down another marijuana growing operation Tuesday _ this time in a semitrailer.

Abel Garcia, 33, 11 35th Ave. N.W., Golden Gate Estates, was arrested and charged with marijuana trafficking and possession of narcotic equipment.

Deputies executed a search warrant on the semitrailer, which is adjacent to Garcia’s residence, around 7 p.m. and discovered a marijuana grow operation that was set up inside the trailer.
Deputies uncovered 28 plants weighing more than 25 pounds and having a street value of $84,000.

Marijuana growing equipment such as transformers and light bulbs valued at $5,000 were also found inside the semitrailer.

The arrest marks the eighth grow house bust in Collier so far this year.
