Man Charged With Pawning Stolen Jewelry

An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say he pawned more than $17,000 worth of stolen jewelry at an East Naples pawn shop.

Glen Lee Snyder, 1089 Highlands Drive, Unit F, Naples, was charged with dealing in stolen property and defrauding a pawnbroker.

Reports say the jewelry was reported stolen from a residence in Cape Coral on Feb. 7.

The victim, Zachery Copulos, told authorities she believed Snyder may have pawned the items.

Further investigation by Collier County sheriff’s deputies revealed Snyder pawned 16 pieces of jewelry matching the description of the items reported stolen by Copulos at Capital Pawn Superstore, 1933 Davis Blvd.

Snyder signed a pawn transaction form stating the jewelry wasn’t stolen and received $650, reports said.

Copulos identified the pawned jewelry as the jewelry she had reported stolen.
